CAPACITOR . HOTPOINT INDESIT CONDENSER DRYER DRUM NOT TURNING ,but belt intact . The motor needs a kickstart to get going and that is what the capacitor does .When the lid is off start it and then push the drum and it should start to turn on it`s own then the capacitor is at fault .
This is how i did it ALWAYS UNPLUG FROM MAINS
I Removed 2 screws from lid (shown in picture.)
I Pushed lid ( as shown in diagram ) until it moved back then lifted the lid off .
I removed the four screws as shown in the picture.Then removed the screw at the top of the side panel ( near the front )
The side panel will slide to the rear of the machine then lift up to remove .
The capacitor is secured by one screw just below it .
The size of capacitor is measured in µF (micro farads), this one is 8 µF.
They are usually between 7µF or 8µF ,except for the 3kg driers which are about 5µf .
